Final Blog Post

Art Inspiring Technology
So, this piece of art was one of my favorite projects I did in AOIT Art One, and I wanted to talk about how the art inspires me to use a technology to make it come to life. The way I drew the flamingo allowed for me to easily cut it into pieces, so I can make it walk. The design of the flamingo I chose to draw made it have a cute and innocent appearance. Thus my artwork inspired me to make the flamingo walk. After taking 8 different pictures of the flamingo's walk cycle I headed over to Photoshop to make it walk with animations. After a bit of playing around, the still are I once drew had come to life, and took its first steps. Its so cool that he broke his leg, and then managed to glue it back together.

Technology Inspiring Art

This project was inspired by watching some cool anamorphsis videos, thus inspiring me to make one. Although technology steals the show because I found this great picture of Patches from 101 Dalmatians and thought this was it. After using Photoshop to distort the image, so it would look 3D when drawn on the paper. Then I printed it out, so that I could draw it. With the use of technology I could easily grid out the paper and draw it. Why stop there, when this distorted picture of Patches could be seen by many of  people, so we scaled the image so we could chalk it extra large! For a short period of time there was a large 3D patches at Apex High School.

I Create Original Art
I used my own unique ideas to make this comic because I like animals, and especially wolves, so I wanted to make a cute like comic about a wolf. My style of art happens to be smooth, cute, bubbly, art that looks pretty cartoonish. Using my art style I managed to create this color and design for the wolf. The type of comic I did was inspired by a comic I like called Stupid fox, and the humor is the same style as that comic. Thus I used Stupid fox comics as my inspiration for the humor, and some style, yet I used my own design to create the character of the wolf and the artwork within the comic pains.

Success!
The mosaic picture of Zac Efron playing the role of Troy Bolton, turned into post it note art. I collaborated with Carly and a few others to make this piece although it is still not done, I will post a picture with the girl, and her reaction to her birthday gift of a huge poster of Zac Efron. Also I took risks when making this piece of art because it is so large, and we don't even know if the birthday girl will have any where to put it! Also because of its size it had been split up into two parts, so we took risks of taking it home, and other stuff in hopes we wouldn't destroy it during the transportation process.
Do-Over!
I would do the light art project again because I had never done it before, and only had an idea of how to do it. It was hard for me to draw without seeing what I had just drawn, and what it would look like till it was over. Next time I would use just the glow sticks because they still look better, and were easier to draw with. Also next I could have a plan on what I want to draw and understand how much time I have to draw it.

I guess before you have some spear mint, you might as well have some bread. How about a thoroughbred?

After you get your bread you gonna pay for it, but how you may ask?
Now lets talk about some jetliner. on air eye

Day 3 of Photoshop

How You Really Feel
We all have that one person that we talk to, but really don't enjoy being with. I have a few of those in my life, although not to name names. This is dedicated to how you really feel about all those people.

Anamorphis

For our next project we decided to create an anamorphis, being a bit Disney brainwashed because of my jump rope competition there this summer, I chose to create an anamorphis of the Disney's 101 Dalmations, Patches. First he started as a digital picture i found online.....
After that I put the picture in Photoshop and stretched the image to make it look 3D at a distance.
Then I printed it out, gridded it, and then drew it on paper
Finally we (Carly, Ashley, Megan, Chris, Grayson, Caitlin, and myself) went out side and chalked it

Post It Note Art

Alright who else thinks post it notes are boring? Same here, till we found a great way to make art with them. How about a portrait of a person......hmmmmmm.......how about Paul Walker?
Paul Walker in the making, haha too bad it doesn't look like him yet. He will be able to be seen a bit of distance involved.
Look like him now? Cool right? Haha Grayson standing next to him, say "Hi Grayson."

Animated Walk Cycle

So lately we have been working on animation in photoshop. That means time to learn the walk cycle, but what is unique about this flamingo is that it has a backwards walk cycle. Flamingos knees bend the other way, that is compared to us, so their walk cycle is technically backwards, as far as animation goes.

Cinemagraph

OMG!!! How is this possible, a jump rope turning without its turner! Some say its movie magic, some say its just magic, others say its not possible. Thanks to careful timeline placement in photoshop, I present to you the self turing jump rope.

Picture frame

One of our projects in Photoshop was to take a picture of ourselves holding just a picture frame. The next task was to fill the picture frame with our personality. I really like the cold, and mountains so I picked a mountain scene for my picture frame. Although it was missing something, jump rope. I love to jump rope it is my passion, so with a little artistic talent I managed to jump on the mountains.

Highlights

In my other post I posted a picture of my painting, but I wanted to talk a little bit about why I painted this scene. The painting is supposed to be depicting an apple orchard that I go to with my family every year. I look forward to going to Sky Top Orchard every year and picking fresh apples and drinking fresh apple cider and apple donuts.

After painting, we played around with light art, by keeping the shutter open on a camera for ten seconds....
Haha you like my touch ups to Megan

I think Carly is ready for a trip to the beach.
Hey look im jumping rope!

Also after going to the zoo I decided to make a new animal......Horsearilla

Illustrations

After our unit of comic art, we dove right into to illustrations......

First thing is to answer a few questions about illustrations.
1. What does it mean to be a free-lance artists?
Its an artists that isn't assigned to one job and they get paid for the project they are working on.
2. What does an illustrators portfolio consists of?
An illustrators portfolio consists of all their finished art, so when asked about it, they can show all their work that is kept in it.
3. What does it mean to have a illustration style?
What it means to have an illustration style is that the way you create and design art is done in your own way, so therefore it is unique to you.

Up next is what I illustrated for the word of the day......NOISE

Here are a few more things I made during the illustration unit

Comic Art

Comic Art Unit

To start off the comic art unit I decided to make a collage of some off my favorite comic characters, and animated cartoons. I really enjoyed making the collage, and was sad that I ran out of room to put more.

After enjoying the cutting and pasting of many of my favorite cartoons, and comics I decided to then make the skeleton of Chip the chipmunk from Chip 'n' Dale. As the drawing kept going, the more the drawing scared me. I seriously thought I would never love Chip anymore because he looks so scary.

Finally, when I finished Chips bones I then moved on to making a comic, similar to the ones you might find in the Sunday paper. The comic I had created is about a stupid wolf, and the whole cartoon is based off an actual cartoon called "Stupid Fox." Although the cartoon is not finished, the words are all there, just needs some more coloring. While creating the comic so far, I used color pencils, a black sharpie, and some nice watercolor paints.
Now its time to answer some questions:
What is the difference between Anime and Manga?-Anime is an animated TV show, while manga is a book series.
What is the difference between a graphic novel and a comic book?- A graphic novel has more of a linear story-line, as opposed to a comic book where the character faces many issues all throughout the story.
How are panels designed and layout in comic books, graphic novels, ect?-
The panels are made of different size frames, or single panels. Depending on the layout of the story is the comic book, or graphic novel was written backwards to forwards, or from right to left instead of the other way around.

Jumping Rope with Tigger

 What have you done today?

Today I jumped rope with Tigger, and it was the exciting day of my life. We jumped all over the gym, and eventually we got Tigger to bounce in one place, so we could jump double dutch. Best day ever!

Angry Pancakes

ANGRY PANCAKES

Using Adobe Photoshop CC 2014  created angry pancakes, a perfect combination of fluffy goodness and scary fish teeth. Despite the scary mouth them, these pancakes are quite tasty. Good luck eating them.
